Sources report that Majority of the BPO seats allotted to Andhra Pradesh. AP has managed to score the top ranking in the allotment of seats under India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) launched by the Software Technology Parks of India. As a part of Digital India scheme , IBPS is aimed at improving employment in Tier II and Tier III cities and towns. Vizag topped the list of issuing the maximum seats that is approximately 4000 among all the seats allotted to Andhra Pradesh ( 17,800 approx. ) .
STPI Joint Director M.P. Dubey said “The state in general and Visakhapatnam, in particular , have got record number of allotment and response from entrepreneurs to create jobs in Sunrise Andhra Pradesh. The reason for good response in Visakhapatnam in the availability of qualified graduates and migration of many experienced candidates from neighbouring States.”
Incentives worth Rs.493 crore will be sanctioned by allotment of 48,400 seats. An estimation is made that in coming three years approximately 1 lakh people will be employed by the scheme. Which will enable the youth power of the city and state as well even more .
The city has been famous for providing its youth a very good employment in the IT and related fields. Vizag is a hub for popular BPO’s such as HSBC , Concentrix ,WNS , and Patra India . these are few of the companies which hold the major part of youth as employees from the city and neighbouring town.
