Vizag Beach Road has witnessed hectic activity on Tuesday on the occasion of World Environment Day. Officials, social workers and children came out from their house in the wee hours to Beach Road and participated in rallies. All of them are with placards in their hands and children donned different shapes to create awareness about environmental protection among general public.
We should completely shun ‘use and throw’ glasses and carry bags to control plastic demon’ said GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan while flagging off a rally at Kalimatha temple, RK Beach. Public should not throw plastic items in drainages as Vizagites have witness very worst situation during last week’s rains in the city, he added.
Nowadays, Vizag Beach is being polluted with plastic items affecting less fish catch by fishermen’ said pollution control board EE Laxmi Narayana while speaking on the occasion. Swachch Bharat Ambassadors should actively propagate the importance of World Environment among common people, he added.
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited Public Relations Officer Sharma and others have administered pledge with public on protecting environment after the end of the rally.
