People are celebrating the day with mass yoga performances everywhere, from beaches to mountain tops – even at 19,000 feet above sea level in the Himalayas like the ITBP ‘Himveers’ in Ladakh. Not just India, countries around the world are celebrating today as International Yoga Day, for fourth time in a row.
Dredging Corporation of India Limited organised “Mass Yoga” for its employees at its Head Office . Rajesh Tripathi, Chairman and Managing Director, led the Yoga session and shared his personal experiences about the advantages of practising Yoga on a regular basis.
On the occasion, Ms.Malini, Yoga expert from the Art of Living Foundation demonstrated various kriyaas before all the employees and guided the participants to perform Yogasanas as per the Common Yoga Protocol. M S Rao, Director (Operations), and all the Heads of Department and employees participated in the programme.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that ‘It’s a proud moment for everyone that today, wherever in the world the sun rises people welcome its warmth and brightness with yoga. From Dehradun to Dublin, Shanghai to Chicago, and Jakarta to Johannesburg, yoga is everywhere’, while practicing yoga at Dehradun’s Forest Research Institute.
