‘Public Relations practice in the USA and Canada is a highly professional and the practitioners of public relations in different companies view it as a profession’, said Prof Siva Prasad Ravi, Director of School of Business, Nipissing University, Canada.
Interacting with the faculty and research scholars of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Andhra University, he said that the Public Relations officers were the most sought after in these countries, and India needs to learn the art of PR Professionalism.
He said public relations play a significant role in Canada and United States as the companies and industries give a lot of importance to the public relations. He further elaborated that the Indian public too is complacent about serious issues of the governance, and the Government should understand gaining importance of PR activity in all spheres of the governance.
Prof D VR Murthy, Head of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Foreign Languages, felicitated Prof Siva Prasad, Challa Krishnaveer Abhishek, Soft Skills trainer, BVK Chaitanya, Joint Secretary of the Linguistics Research Society also spoke on the occasion.
Microwave Engineering and Antennas Laboratory for B Tech students
Andhra University vice chancellor Professor Gollapalli Nageswar Rao inaugurated newly constructed laboratories at electronics and communication engineering department. These labs will be very useful to B Tech, Integrated Engineering and M Tech students and research projects.
‘Students should utilize all the facilities in the campus provided and develop their skill set during their studies’ said Nageswar Rao after cutting the ribbon.
