Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has reviewed various flagship projects with collectors and Panchayat Raj secretary K S Jawahar Reddy through video conference from capital Amravati. Sanitation in rural area, education, and medical, health, Bala Sanjeevani, Grama Darshini, village development planning and other issues were discussed in the video conference.
Collector Praveen Kumar, joint collector G Srijana, JC 2 Dr A Siri, trainee collector Dinesh Kumar, District Rural Development Authority Project Director Satya Sai Srinivas, Urban Community Development PD Srinivasan, district panchayat officer Krishna Kumari, chief planning officer Rama Sastry, Sadhikara Mitras and others have participated in the video conference.
‘We have achieved ODF (open defecation free) stage in all our villages and next we are aiming at ODF Plus’ said Chandra Babu Naidu. To achieve this solid waste should be managed with total sanitation, underground drainage, storm water drains and C C roads must be there in all villages. Every house should be fitted with drinking water tap and rain water harvesting pits should be dug in the premises. All village street lights must be fitted with LED bulbs and arrangements should be done for disbursing Tele Medicine. Sadhikara Mitras will be provided with Smart Phones within a short time for availing of their services with more effectiveness, he added.
There are 925 village panchayats in Visakhapatnam district and we do not have sites in 300 villages for setting up solid waste management sheds’ said collector Praveen Kumar. We request the government for allowing us to hire sites in rural areas on monthly rental basis for setting up sheds’ as chief minister has approved for that on the spot, he added.
