Visakhapatnam district collector Praveen Kumar has reviewed ongoing issues of hospitals in the capacity of chairman of hospitals development society at his bungalow. King George Hospital superintendent Dr L Arjuna, Ear, Nose, Tongue Hospital head Dr Raghunadha Babu, Dr Sambashiva Rao from Chest Hospital, Dr Hema Latha of Queen Victoria (Gosha) Hospital, Dr S Radha Rani from mental hospital and Andhra Medical College Principal Dr Sudhakar took part in the meeting.
‘We all should see that patients who coming to government hospitals should get better services’ said Praveen Kumar. To achieve this goal funds of hospital development society can be utilized without having any doubt by following the terms and conditions of usage of funds. If there is any hospital without appointing agency for outsourcing various services, it should be done immediately. Dr Radha Rani should send proposals to GVMC revenue section for bifurcating property tax between ENT, Chest and Mental hospitals, sprawling in 58 acres. I am here by authorizing for setting up 40 KV transformer and aqua guard on reimbursement basis to spend development society funds, he added.
The society members and chairman have approved expenditure incurred for purchasing medical equipment, medicines and under various heads by respective hospitals.
