Candidates are selected on the basis of APSET exam as per the norms laid down by University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC criteria basis which APSET result is declared is as follows: Top 6% of the appearing candidates who appear in all three papers and secure at least 40% aggregate marks for candidates belonging to General Category and at least 35% aggregate marks for candidates belonging to reserved categories will be declared qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor by following the reservation policy of the State Government.
‘We are very proud for organizing APSET for third time in a row’ said education minister Ganta Srinivas Rao .While releasing the results at Senate Hall, Andhra University he said that these results were approved of by Moderation committee and steering committee of AP SET -2018 on 17th August 2018.
‘As many as 33,320 candidates were attended to the examination out of 42,663 applied candidates’ said Vice Chancellor Gollapalli Nageswar Rao while speaking on the occasion. We have conducted exam in 31 subjects and 2,481 candidates were qualified while registering 7.4%, he added.
‘Among women candidates 928 were qualified against 15,489 attended and 1553 men qualified out of 17,471 attended’ said AU Rector K Gayatri Devi.
‘Last year we have secured 6.9% success rate and that was improved to 7.4% this year’ said Registrar Kandula Niranjan.
‘Qualifying in AP SET is mandatory for getting recruited as lecturers and assistant professors in degree colleges across Andhra Pradesh’ said AP SET Member Secretary Prof. K Srinivas Rao.
