Visakhapatnam police commissioner Mahesh Chandra Laddah has reviewed the arrangements for upcoming Vinayaka Chavithi Festival at police conference hall. DCP (L &O) Fakirappa, ADCP (admin) Mahendra Patrudu, ACPs and representatives of Ganesh Mandapams have participated in the meeting.
‘All organizers of Ganesh Mandapams should register their details in our Website www.vizagcitypolice.com’, or take written permission from area ACP’s integrated control room’ said Mahesh Chandra Laddah. The height of any Ganesh idol must not be more than eleven feet. Only natural colors should be applied on earthen idols as plaster of Paris and artificial colors were banned by Andhra Pradesh Government, he added.
‘All idols should be immersed in sea at the give time only and sound also should be maintained below pollution levels’ said Fakirappa while speaking on the occasion. No one was authorized for collecting donations with force and Darshan tickets should not be maintained at any Mandap.This process was banned between Park Hotel and Coastal Battery area and no one should try to immerse idols in this area, he added.
‘Any Mandap should not be operated more than 11 days’ said Mahendra Patrudu. Obscene dances and fire crackers were totally banned and stringent action will be taken against the violators, he added.

Dry Jetty opposite Coastal Battery, Spill Way Jetty, Peda Waltair, Jalari Peta, Rushi Konda, Sagar Nagar, Jodu Gulla Palem, Appikonda Ravala Tank Bed, Parawada Mutyalamma Palem, Bhimili Beach, Pinagadi Tank Bed and Gostani River.
