Human resources development minister Ganta Srinvas Rao flagged off Pinkthon at RK Beach. ACP (traffic) Kinajarapu Prabhakar and All Events organizers were present at that time. Girls, College students and women who suffered and won breast cancer also took part in the rally.

‘It is the beginning of a movement carried forward by a growing community of empowered women across India, who share a belief that a healthy family, a healthy nation and a healthy world begins with empowered women’ said Ganta Srinvas Rao .

‘The first step in empowerment is taking control of your own health, respecting yourself and understanding and celebrating the value you bring to your family and society’ said Prabhakar

 Pinkathon is more than a Marathon. It is the seed of change. It is the beginning of a movement carried forward by a growing community of empowered women across India, who share a belief that a healthy family, a healthy nation and a healthy world begins with empowered women.

India Going Pink is a concept initiated by United Sister’s Foundation, which conducts Pinkathon, a Women’s Run for Breast Cancer Awareness. India Going Pink is an initiative run under Pinkathon’s umbrella to take the awareness to all the other cities and towns in India to encourage women to adopt healthier lifestyles and have a positive attitude towards life.
