To inculcate leadership qualities among youth and to make them as efficient and responsible citizens of the country, the Govt of India through Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is going to organize Youth Parliament Debates across the country in all states at District, State and National levels to prepare them to lead the country as future People’s representatives in the House of Parliament and State Assembly or at any level of governance from Local to National. As part of this, eminent and knowledgeable Academicians were appointed as District Nodal Officers in every district of the country and invited youth in the age group of 18 – 25 to participate in Youth Parliament Debates at District, State and National level on 15 important topics such as Swatchata, Poverty, Corruption, Terrorism & National security, Communalism, Casteism, Good Governance, Environmental protection, Digital India, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Beti bachao Beti padhao, Skill India, Startup India, Indradhanush (immunization) and Ayushman Bharat, River and soil conservation etc.
Each college may send two best student nominees to the debate. Besides any youth of the age prescribes may directly register in the Registration Cell at the venue. Students may also register online by sending a video talk on any of the listed topics. Dr K Manikya Kumari, HOD-Botany and NSS Program Officer of St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous) were appointed as District Nodal Officer of Visakhapatnam District. The District level Youth Parliament Debate is going to be organised jointly by St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous) and AU NSS CELL at Andhra University shortly. In this context, a poster was released with the details of themes and other details today by Dr. P. Rama Chandra, AP State NSS Officer along with Prof R D Sampath Kumar-Programme Coordinator, AU NSS Cell, Mr. N. Sanjay Kumar-Representative of Regional Directorate of NSS, Hyderabad, Dr. K. Manikya Kumari-District Nodal Officer DYP Visakhapatnam and Ms. EPS Bhagyalakshmi, DPO-NSS Vizag district.
