Visakhapatnam zilla parishat chair person Lalam Bhavani has chaired the standing committee’s number 1 to 7 at conference hall. She paid condolences by observing two minutes silence to recently deceased MLC and GITAM Chairman MVVS Murthy, Arakau MLA Kidari Sarveswar Rao and ex MLA Siveri Soma before the commencement of the review meeting.
‘District level officials should see that all the welfare schemes introduced by Andhra Pradesh government should reach the people’ said Lalam Bhavani. Officials should reach the set targets in reaching the people’s initiatives and they should be effectively utilized by the beneficiaries, she added.
‘We have identified 51,959 candidates who are eligible to get job less allowance in the district and deposited Rs 1,000 each to 18,787 candidates in their bank accounts through online transactions’ said Rural Development department’s assistant project director. We have deposited Rs 375.63 crores to 44,820 DWCRA groups through Turmeric Powder and Vermilion Scheme. We have disbursed Rs 202.95 lakhs to 718 persons out of applied 2092 marriages under Chandranna Marriage Gift scheme’ he added.
‘We got sanction for virtual classes in 178 schools and provided facilities for digital classes in 371 schools across the district’ said district education officer. Visakhapatnam stood in third place in this year of Tenth class exams, he added.
‘We have noticed 3 Swine Flu cases even though there is a decrease in the number of viral fever cases, after taking apt actions led by collector Praveen Kumar’ said district medical and health officer.
