Integral Institute of Advanced Management, (IIAM) Vizag have taken an active part in the Daan Utsav (Joy of Giving week) to reach out to the under privileged and share the joy of giving with them.
The Institute is celebrating the Joy of Giving Week from October 2nd to 8th every year as a tradition. As a part of this Daan Utasv 2018 the students, staff and management have voluntarily participated in collecting the used household goods, books, electronics, bags and toys from everyone. On 8th October 2018 the volunteers of Vizag Smiles organization were invited to the college campus and the Dr S P Ravindra, Secretary and the Director of IIAM, Dr Vijaya Rudraraju handed over the collected goods and donations to the volunteers.
On this occasion Dr SP Ravindra, Secretary appreciated the initiative of the management and students for the efforts taken to collect a good amount of household items, bags, toys and electronics from the students and staff and giving them to an NGO “Vizag Smiles”.
The volunteers of Vizag Smiles on this event addressed the gathering and explained how the organization works in repacking the items collected and distributing them to the needy people of the city. They also explained that the organization will recycle the spoiled goods which cannot be reused anymore and the amount got would be used to educate the under privileged children. They invited the students to join as volunteers of the organization as they need more helping hands to spread smiles in the city.
The college organized a special program to the mentally retarded children of “Hidden Sprouts”on 8 th Oct, 2018 at the campus. The Chief Guest Dr Satyanarayana Raju Nadimpilli, Medical Director, Sneha Sandhya Age Care Foundation, Visakhapatnam addressed the audience and explained the importance of giving.
