Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at TECH 2018

The second edition of TECH (Transforming Education Conference for Humanity) – 2018, a conference organised by UNESCO and MGIEP in collaboration with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, was opened with much fanfare on Thursday with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh gracing the occasion. The conference focuses on transforming education with the use of digital learning tools. The three day affair will be host to a number of digital and educational pundits, ministers, specialists in AI, etc., and will see participation from over 60 countries.
The CM began his inaugural speech with heaping praises on the Steel City of Vizag for its clean and green environment and pristine beaches, and went on to talk about how the routine classroom learning has been transformed with the use of virtual and digital aids by making learning interesting for children. The highlight of the day, however, was his announcement of the establishment of an Intelligent Global Hub, in association with UNESCO MGIEP, for developing and promoting digital educational methods. It will be set up in a 50 acre plot in the city of Vizag that will be allotted by the government, and will apparently lead to the creation of thousands of jobs in the near future. The Hub, among other things, will have digital and gaming learning centres, training academies for teachers, skill development and resource schools etc.
