Income tax department of Visakhapatnam as part of vigilance awareness week being observed all over the country from 29-10-2018 to 03-11-2018 under the theme “ERADICATE CORRUPTION AND BUILD A NEW INDIA” organized today at 4.30pm at Income Tax office Infinite Towers, Sankaramatam Road, Dwarakanagar, Visakhapatnam. The chief guest of the meeting is Vice Admiral MS Pawar, AVSM, VSM Chief of Staff Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam and the Guest of Honor is Divine Sister Madhuri Bramha Kumari.
Mr. B.G. Reddy, IRS, Principal Commissioner of Income tax, Visakhapatnam in his welcome address highlighted the need and importance of the Vigilance Week Awareness Program and stated besides collection of taxes the department is committed towards achieving “Minimum Government and Maximum Governance in Tax Administration’’ to move towards a transparent tax payer friendly regime.
Mr. C.R.Pati IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income tax, Visakhapatnam highlighted in his speech “In addition to collection of taxes, we as taxmen should be known for discharging our duties honestly, truthfully and transparently. The observance of vigilance awareness week reminds all of us to be vigilant and transparent in discharge of our duties not only in this week but throughout the year.”
The chief guest of the day Vice Admiral MS Pawar, AVSM, VSM Chief of Staff Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam has delivered and emphasized the audience about the integrity and probity in public life including ethics of our national culture by quoting from Yagnavalka, Chanakya and Mahatma Gandhi and the themes of “Satyamevajayathey” ,Income tax department logo(kosh , moolo, dand) and also impressed the audience about preamble of Indian Constitution and further stated corruption is less in Armed Forces due to the theme “Service before Self” (Sevo Paramo Dharmaha) , Peer Group pressure and immediate adjudication.
