The Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) is the new of home of some animals from Pilukula Biological Park at Manguluru in Karnataka.
Just in time for the holiday season, our Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) has some treats in store for all of us. On Thursday, two Royal Bengal Tigers, two Mugger Crocodiles and five red jungle fowls have come all the way from Pilukula Biological Park at Manguluru in Karnataka. This transfer is a part of an exchange program between the two zoos. In exchange for these animals, the Pilukala Biological Park will get four wild dogs and five painted storks from IGZP. The animals are still in the process of getting acclimatised, and are going through a quarantine period after which they will be open to visitors at the zoo. While both the new tigers are male, the crocodiles are male and female, and the fowls are three males and two females.
