On the eve of the 26th International Day for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), which falls on the 3rd of December of every year, the citizens of Vizag came together and held a rally.
On Sunday, the citizens of Vizag, people with varied disabilities, school children, volunteers, and people from NGOs came together for a cause! That was to commemorate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), a day dedicated to all the specially-abled people the world-over, with a rally on the streets of Vizag.
The rally, which aimed at raising awareness about the issues of PwDs, started from RK Beach road and ended at the YMCA Beach road. It was heartening to see the fervour and pomp in the procession, which saw the accompaniment of a musical band, and children holding tri-coloured balloons and flags. This year is the 26th International Day for Persons with Disabilities which has been marked by the United Nations for promoting disability rights and rooting for better conditions for them.
