Thai AirAsia is going to introduce direct flights between Vizag and Bangkok. Move to tap tourism potential in both these cities. First trip from Vizag to Bangkok on December 8th.
Travelling to and fro from Thailand has just gotten easier for Vizagites! In a move to boost tourism, the low-cost airlines, Thai AirAsia, is starting flight services between Visakhapatnam International Airport and Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport. Having a travelling time of 3 hours, the first trip aboard the 180 seater Airbus 320 will take place on December 8th.
This news comes just after Thailand waivers Rupees 4000 off for Indian tourists on Visa fees and right before the peak holiday season begins, so it will be sure to keep the new route busy. A Thai AirAsian official speaking to The Hindu said, “Because of availability of many value packages, the demand for Thailand has always been more in India compared to other countries. The demand for travel to Thailand is increasing manifold due to excellent tourist locales as well as low air fare, accommodation and food.”
Also, a group from the Tours and Travels Association of Andhra (TTAA) is going to be the first among those who will be travelling to Bangkok to see what kind of services it could offer to lure Thai tourists to Andhra Pradesh. The schedule of the these flights will be as follows – Flights would go from Vizag on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to Bangkok and from Bangkok on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays to Vizag.
So no more hopping across to other cities for catching flights to Bangkok, that’s surely a relief for our Vizag folks!
