Andhra Pradesh Government signs MoU with Adani group to build green Data Centre Parks in Vizag.
In a move to boost the growth in Vizag, the Government of Andhra Pradesh signed a deal with Adani Group to build a 5GW Data Centre Park in Vizag. Going to be set up in three places in a five hundred acre land, the Data Centres are all going to be powered by renewable energy, with the first phase being completed by 18 months. While the renewable energy infrastructure would be built at a cost of 30,000 crores, the data centres are going to be build at a cost of 40,000, bringing the total investment to 70,000 crores. According to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the Data Centres are going to create around 1 lakh jobs, and would in future generate 5,000 MW of renewable power for 1 GW of Data Centre capacity. While Adani Chairman Gautam Adani said, “To be true, I couldn’t find a better place like Visakhapatnam to set up the Data Centre. The ecosystem, land value, sea coast are some of the reasons for zeroing in on Andhra Pradesh.”
On our part, we think it is great to see Vizag becoming a favoured destination for national and multinational companies!
