Fire in Vizag Steel Plant on Morning early morning. It is the second such fire in three days. There were no casualties.

It was the second time in a week that a fire broke out at the Vizag Steel Plant. According to a report on The Hindu, a fire broke out at the Steel Melt Shop- 2 near the canteen area at around 2.30 am today. It took CISF fire-fighters two hours to put out the fire. Luckily, the fire occurred at a time when nobody was present.

The spokesperson for the company said, “There were no injuries nor was any equipment damage. There was also no loss in production. Cause for the fire mishap is being investigated.”

‘Second such incident in three days’

But what was a matter of concern for employees was two such incidents taking place in three days. However, the union president said there was no cause for any alarm and requested the authorities to increase fire safety mechanisms.The earlier fire on 18th January was caused after a blast due to hot metal leak.
